RÉKA SZABÓ
I am a Hungarian visual and conceptual artist born in Erdély, Romania. I studied at Partium Christian University in Oradea and part-time at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest. I graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and a master's degree in Design and Visual Communication. Since completing my education in 2013, I have dedicated myself to environmental art, conceptual art, and site-specific installations. I have had the opportunity to present my work in exhibitions and participate in a variety of international art events, residency programs, and art festivals, such as the Yatoo International Nature Art Residency and the SIEAF Experimental Art Festival in South Korea, the Tsukuba Biennale in Japan, the International Forest Art Center in Germany, the Rah Art Environmental Residency in Iran, the Zanabazaar Fine Art Museum in Mongolia, and the Vign'Art Contemporary Art Festival in France. I have also held solo exhibitions, including presentations at the Műcsarnok in Budapest, Hungary. Additionally, my work has been commissioned by public institutions and private collections, including the François Schneider Art Center Foundation in France, where I exhibited onsite installations.
Driven by a commitment to environmental protection, my outdoor artworks often utilize natural materials and culminate in large-scale, interactive installations that respond to their surroundings. Through my work in nature, I explore the dynamic interplay between human existence and the natural world, seeking to underscore their mutual influence and inseparability.
My creative process is nomadic, allowing me to work on-site around the globe, often through invitations or residency programs. This approach enables me to interact with diverse cultures, examining the interaction between nature and humanity in different cultural contexts. This research profoundly impacts the final results of my projects and guides their message toward a universal understanding.
